Fake Food
This show was cancelled due to Covid, however, I had already built most of the fake food with the help of the prop shop student workers. This resulted in creating a display with the original show in mind. I set the entire display, but I only contributed the fake food seen detailed on this page.

I created both the petit-fours and chocolates out of foam covered with caulk. The foam kept the treats light and the caulk allowed them to be paintable. I created the flowers using caulk through cake frosting tips.

The tarts started with a salt dough base and were filled and decorated with caulk, paint, beads, and some select fake fruit that was pulled from stock. I also painted the salt dough to create a golden-brown baked look.

This treat was built with cardboard, caulk, and paint. I cut up and frayed the edges of the cardboard to create a flakey, layered edge. After these pictures, I also used a gel medium mixed with paint to re-frost the treats for a more realistic look.
